SECOND TRIMESTER RECESS
We write to inform all our valued parents that the school will go for the second trimester break Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 14:00 hours and resume on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 for the third trimester academic activities. However, the 9th grade students (GES and Cambridge Classes) will continue classes till the examinations are over.
We are moving to Community 12
We are glad to inform parents that we are finally moving the school from Community 8 to our newly developed premises at Community 12. We are sure that our angels would love their new and fresh classrooms when school re-opens on the 26th of April, 2016.
NO ‘Our Day’ Feast
It is the policy of the school not to organize children’s party [Our Day] at the end of the SECOND TRIMESTER. This has been put in place to help parents manage cost. All children will be expected to turn up in usual school uniform.
End of Trimester Examination Reports
Parents of the Pre-school and Primary departments are informed to collect their children’s reports on Friday, April 8, 2016. Parents of the Junior High department will pick theirs on Friday, April 22, 2016.
Parent - Teacher Conference:
Pre-school & Primary Departments
As per the school’s calendar of activities, we wish to remind parents and guardians of the
Parent & Teacher Conference for Friday, April 8, 2016 at the school premises, Communities 12 and 8 respectively. This arrangement is for parents/guardians to have a
one-on-one meeting with their children’s teachers and to discuss their academic work. We wish to stress that the Parent – Teacher Conference will run from 8:00a.m. till 12:00p.m. (Parents
could call in any time within these hours). All parents are entreated to attend without fail.
We write to express our appreciation and gratitude for the attendance on the part of parents at the recent Stakeholders’ Conference. We have taken note of your comments, suggestions and concerns and we aim to resolve such concerns as quickly and sensitively as we can.
The 2016/2017 admission forms are out. The closing date for the sale of forms is June 24, 2016. For further enquiries kindly call 050-128-1961. We thank you for the interest you show and the effort you make towards the development of our noble school.
We do re-emphasize that Parents/Guardians who have ONE or TWO children in the school are expected to MAKE FULL PAYMENT (100%) of their children’s fees; without the option of paying by installment ON or BEFORE school resumes each term.
Parents/guardians with more than two children in the school will however have the option of paying 2/3rd (75%) of their total bill ON or BEFORE the day of re-opening and then pay the remainder by resumption of school after mid-term break.
From the start of the term academic work in all departments has been seen to be making huge progress. In the Pre-school teaching and learning, interspersed with play and a variety of outdoor activities, took centre stage. The system in this department has not only incentivized teachers and pupils but also created the space for every child, regardless of background, to develop the knowledge, skills and values.
In the primary department rigorous preparations have been stepped up towards the Primary Check-point Test slated for April 19, 2016. Handwriting practice has been given a much greater attention and so has Mental Drill in the classrooms. In the Junior High department, five (5) mock tests have been conducted so far. As part of preparations towards the 2016 BECE, a joint Mock Test with a prominent school in town will be taken in two weeks’ time.
In the 2015 BECE, this school placed 7th out of 108 schools in the Tema Metropolis. We are far from satisfied with this result. Hence we are determined to work hard to recapture our rightful position because topping the chart means more to us than not being beaten.
In the Cambridge Secondary department, preparations are in full swing for the Secondary Check-point Test slated for April 19, 2016. It is for this reason that both Junior High and Cambridge Secondary Grade 9 students will have to forego the upcoming Holidays and instead attend classes as usual till the examinations are taken.
One area of concern that should catch the attention of parents is the reluctance to claim the children’s terminal reports. In our archives are a mountain of unclaimed reports dating back to 2010! This is to launch a last call to parents to make the conscious effort to pick up reports of their children at all times.
Branded Uniform for all Students
As we informed our parents last year, the school wishes to go back to the type of branded uniform that we used to wear originally. This uniform will have some sort of identification, logo or name in it.
Our present uniform has no significant identification apart from the colour, this, unfortunately has been the case for the past thirteen years.
This change commences next trimester. However, we shall give parents reasonable time span for their children’s uniform to wear out before they buy the branded ones.
