Dear Valued Parent,

 

END OF ACADEMIC YEAR/ VACATION

We wish to express our appreciation and gratitude to parents for their prayers, support and co-operation towards the children and the school. The school breaks for summer vacation tomorrow, JULY 10, 2014 at 14:00 HOURS and RESUMES on SEPTEMBER 9, 2014 for normal academic work.

 

EXTERNAL EXAMS

We are happy to announce to parents that for the first time in the history of the school, we successfully sat for two major exams. Namely: BECE and CIE “Checkpoint”.

 

CAMBRIDGE PRIMARY CHECKPOINT SUCCESS

ASSI has chalked another remarkable success.  This time, the feat has been the school’s maiden Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Examinations which was taken in April, 2014.  In all, 64 candidates sat the examinations.  The summary results are as follows:

Interpretation of the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint scales.

 

  • Scores on the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint scale are from 0.0 (the lowest level of ability) to 6.0 (the highest level of ability).
  • Students achieving between 3.0 and 4.0 are adjudged to have a sound understanding of most of the curriculum content.
  • Students achieving less than 2.0 have a basic understanding of the curriculum content.  They would benefit from more focus on some areas of the curriculum.
  • Students achieving more than 5.0 have an excellent understanding of the curriculum.

We would like to congratulate our students for making the school, their parents and themselves proud.

 

GRADUATION CEREMONY

The graduation ceremony for the BECE candidates is scheduled as per the school calendar of activities. Please note the following points on the Graduation programme:

 

  • Date: 12th July, 2014  
  • Time: 10:00a.m.
  • Venue : Love Tabernacle Church  (Community 12, Tema)-Opposite Solace Hospital

We invite all parents/guardians and their families/friends to attend this occasion.

 

 

REHEARSALS TOWARDS THE PENDING GRADUATION CEREMONY

The children who are performing at the programme should be sent to the venue on Friday, July 11, 2014 for dress rehearsal. Reporting time will be 9:00a.m. and the time for picking them up will be 2:00p.m. Children will be required to wear the school house dress. (the checked dress)

 

CHANGE IN FINANCIAL POLICY

As was discussed at the school’s Stake-holders’ Conference, ASSI will no longer
have two categories of fees-billing.  Effective September, 2014 when the school re-opens for the first trimester, all fees will be charged in Ghana Cedis. Kindly take note of the following:

CHILDREN’S END OF YEAR PARTY
[“OUR DAY”]

There will be the usual children’s end-of- year party on the day of vacation [July 10, 2014].  Children are requested to bring enough food and drinks for themselves and their friends. They should be in their party dresses on this day.  Dresses should be decent.

 

PICKING OF CHILDREN’S EXAMS REPORT/ PARENT AND TEACHER CONFERENCE

As per the school calendar of activities, parents are expected to pick the reports, bills, and other materials of their wards on Thursday, July 17, 2014 and have a conference with their wards’ teachers.

 

SUMMER SCHOOL [“SUMMER SKUUL”]

Parents are reminded that registration for summer school begins next week, 14th July, 2014.

Activities include:

  • Swimming
  • Excursion (sight-seeing)
  • Movies
  • ABACUS
  • Scrabble
  • Special English, Mathematics & Handwriting

 

NB:  Students at the Junior High department should contact Mr. Agbavo on 0501281957 for enquiries/registration.

 

STUDENTS’ ID CARDS

We wish to inform all parents that, preparation of the identify cards (ID) for the students has been completed as indicated in our letter dated 5th April, 2014.

 

We therefore wish to notify parents of the distribution of the cards to all students as promised. Also, parents are to remind their children come next term to always bring along their ID Cards when they come to school daily.
