Welcome Back To School
Be glad then, ye children of Zion (Angels School), and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. - Joel 2:23-27
For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
- Proverbs 23:18
BREAKING NEWS (1)
Our prestigious school has been accorded the accreditation as a Cambridge International Examinations Centre. Consequently, we have become one of the Cambridge Associate Schools in Ghana. ASSI now bears the centre number GHO52.
This leap now makes ASSI a part of a learning community of over 9,000 Cambridge schools in more than 160 countries in the world. CIE, as you may be aware, is the world’s largest provider of international educational programmes and qualifications for 5-19 years olds. These include Cambridge Primary, Secondary 1, IGCSE and A Level. Cambridge designs programmes and qualifications that are flexible and help learners to become confident, responsible, innovative, engaged and useful citizens. ASSI can now be benchmarked internationally. Our highly qualified teachers will continue to receive first class comprehensive support from the world’s leading university.
Learners will enjoy unlimited local and international academic opportunities.
This milestone in the life of our great school has been a long standing expectation of management, teachers and many parents. We greatly rejoice and thank God for this news.
BREAKING NEWS (2)
Angels School came FIRST in the 2013 Basic Education Certificate Examinations in the entire Tema Metropolis as compiled and released by the Tema Metro Education Directorate. Angels School is the only school in both Tema and Accra and arguably in the entire country that has captured the first place TWICE in recent times. Other academic achievements (as catalogued online) are as a result of our increasingly higher academic attainment. We could also attribute the feat to the crop of experienced teachers we have been able to maintain over the years.
We have higher expectations for our children to make them the best among their peers. And our expectation shall not be cut off.
A page has been created on the school’s website for all well-wishing parents to send their congratulatory messages online in conjunction with these successes (as was done previously). Kindly rejoice with US. We promise to continue to make our parents proud and maintain the relationship we have built over the years (especially with the parents of the examination class). We shall not allow anything or any individual to come between our noble aspirations, all for the good of our children.
MAIDEN CAMBRIDGE CHECKPOINT EXAMINATION
Candidates of our first International examination are scheduled to write the checkpoint in the last week of April, 2014.
We have maintained constant and excellent service in our transport department. The number of children has increased from 18 as at the close of last term to 25 as at the beginning of this term. We have different arrangements with parents who wish to take advantage of our service. Various arrangements have been put in place for parents who opt for one-way service.
We thank parents concerned for their co-operation. For further enquiries, please contact Michelle on 0275234723.
We are re-focusing our attention on helping children improve their handwriting skills. For this term and beyond, handwriting skills acquisition will have to be re-inforced from Grade 1 to 3. All teachers in these classes will double up their efforts and help children practise handwriting as consistently as stipulated in the schedule. Parents will help by supervising and encouraging their wards to practise
the handwriting skills at home as well.
As part of Management’s policy to curb the challenges that characterise the supply of books, the BOOKLIST has been uploaded on the school’s website for parents’ perusal and action.
The after-school programme will begin next week, God willing. The starting and closing time remain unchanged (that is 2:30– 4:00p.m.) The fee for the training is still GH¢35 a month.
Thank you and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our cherished parents!
God bless you.
