December 2015 Newsletter
14th December, 2015
Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth forever. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion. AMEN.–Psalm 111:1-4
We must all be thankful to the Almighty God for His Divine protection, love, faithfulness and indeed for all that He has shown to the school, parents, pupils, students and the staff.
The Lord has seen us through another fruitful trimester and we give Him all the praise. The 1st trimester vacation will commence on Wednesday, 16th December, 2015 at 14:00hours and will end on Monday, 11th January, 2016. Normal academic work will start on Tuesday, 12th January, 2016.
“OUR DAY” (CHILDREN’S PARTY)
There will be the children’s end of year party on the day of vacation [16th December, 2015]. Children are requested to bring enough food and drinks for themselves and their friends. They should be in their party dresses on this day. Dresses should be decent
PICKING OF EXAMINATION REPORTS
The end of term examination reports and scripts will be released to parents on Thursday, 17th December, 2015. As per the calendar of activities. May we re-iterate our concern over reports and scripts that are never claimed and have piled up in the archives for all this long. Parents cannot overlook the need to have reports picked up at times stipulated.
The school wishes to thank all parents for honouring our invitation to attend the ANGELS FAMILY DAY (Christmas Programme). Your massive attendance and performance carried the evening. Our children’s performances were awesome and we appreciate every single one of you. We would like to acknowledge and appreciate the following parents whom God used to grace the occasion in a special way.
- Rev. Owusu-Asare
- Rev. Dr. Ahlijah
- Brother Amos Kelvin-Annan
- Cwesi Oteng
- Mrs. Pearl Ackah
The school feels greatly honoured to have you as parents. Thank you all and may the Lord bless you.
Academic excellence is about driving up standards and this school has been consistent with teaching and learning activities. This term has seen marked improvement in all departments. In the Pre-school department reading has been given prominence and has also taken centre stage. The idea of making all children learn to read fluently before they move to the Primary department is paying off tremendously.
In the Primary department the curriculum promotes creativity, innovativeness and understanding. The mid-term tests and other forms of evaluation have helped the teachers in the various classes take a hard look at children who do not appear to grasp the import of the lessons. For the Cambridge 6th Grade, Mock examinations have been continually plied throughout the term. This will ensure come April, 2016 candidates for the Checkpoint are adequately prepared.
In the Secondary School subjects under the IGCSE have the full complement of teachers who are endearing themselves to the students. For students opting for the BECE, the preparation regime is on-going and well-orchestrated.
One other outstanding performance that this school pulled off as a feather in its cap this trimester was the remarkable success at the Music Theory: Grade 1 ABRSM Examination taken in the WAEC Hall, Accra. For the ten candidates who partook in the examination, the results were: Three Distinctions, Four Merits and Three Passes! Kudos to the candidates and their hard-working Music Instructor!
From Grade 1 to Grade 3, handwriting skills are panned out and children are in the process of practising continuously to acquire the said skills. In a nutshell, academic work this term is receiving proper attention.
The school still stands by the policy that parents with one or two children pay their children’s fees fully (100% of the total fees) ON or BEFORE the resumption. However, parents with more than two children have the option of paying 75% of the total of fees ON or BEFORE the resumption of school.
We refer to our letter of 7th December, 2015 on the above subject. We wish to inform parents that the Christmas package is still ongoing. However, parents have between now and 18th December, 2015 to make full payment of fees for the next trimester. Take advantage of this offer while it lasts. Save some money and enjoy a blissful holiday.
It is our prayer that parents with financial difficulties will overcome them so that they could take advantage of this opportunity.
Have a very merry Christmas.
