May 2017 Newsletter

31st May, 2017

Dear Parent,

We do hereby announce that the mid-trimester recess begins at 14:00 hours on Thursday, 1st June, 2017 and ends on Monday, 5th June, 2017. The school resumes for intensive academic work on Tuesday, 6th June, 2017.

We should like to remind parents and guardians about the Open House scheduled for
Friday, 9th June, 2017 at the school premises, Community 12, Tema.

The following are points we wish to stress:

  • Time for the Open House programme will be between 10:00a.m. and 2:00p.m. (Parents may call in any time between these hours).
  • Children must come in their Friday wear (the checkered fabric).
  • The mid-trimester examination papers and reports will be released to parents on the same day (9th June, 2017).  We urge all parents to make time and be present for this programme.

Parents may have noticed that no child has been asked to stay out of class this term for non-payment of school fees. The school has been running an experiment aimed at making parents settle their children’s fees without our letting these children take the brunt. This new development was on the advice of the Board of Directors to give the parents the benefit of the doubt and also to trust that parents concerned would do the right thing and pay their children’s fees on time and without fail. The school needs money to run its affairs.

In view of that we shall continue to do our part of the commitment by constantly reminding parents of their obligations through letters and text messages.  However, if this experiment does not yield the needed result, Management may revert to asking the children to stay out of class till the fees are paid in full. Please make this work and help keep the children out of school fees issue.

The first half did not go down well and we can only assume that parents were not in the know. This goes to prove that without constant reminders fees are not paid as expected.

In our effort to make the payment of school fees convenient for parents, Management has opened another account at the Tema Market Branch of GCB Bank (Gh.) Ltd.  The decision to choose GCB Bank limited was borne out of the fact that it is one bank with a vast nationwide coverage and for that matter makes for easy access.

The Account Number is 1081130001196 Ghana Commercial Bank. Parents are hereby encouraged to make payment of the school fees of their children into this Account. We reiterate however, that the Cal Bank account still remains valid and active.

As stated in our 5th May, 2017 newsletter, the school crest is now available at the cost of Ten Cedis (¢10) a piece. Parents may obtain them at the Accounts Office. On the other hand parents who want the school to sew the crest on their children’s uniform can simply pay an amount of Fifteen Cedis (¢15) to the Accounts Office and that will be done.

In the meantime children will continue to put on the checkered uniform without the crest till we are ready with the branded cloth. We would appreciate it greatly if by the time of the graduation ceremony, every child has the crest sewn on his/her uniform.

Thank you.

~ Management
