October Newsletter

22nd October, 2013

Dear Parent,

MID-TRIMESTER BREAK/INDIGENOUS FOOD AND COSTUME DAY

The school will break for Mid-Trimester on Thursday, 24th October, 2013 and resume on Tuesday, 29th October, 2013.

The Mid-Trimester Test results will be released to parents on the day of break.  Parents should contact their wards’ teachers for their reports.  Parents are welcome to discuss reports with class teachers, the Academic Head or the Superintendent, if need be.

INDIGENOUS FOOD AND COSTUME DAY

All is set for the Indigenous Food and Costume day. Kindly note the following:

  • The entire school will assemble at the Community 8 campus.  This implies parents will have to drop off their wards at the Community 8 premises at the usual reporting time and pick them up late from the same venue at 1:00p.m.
  • Children of various tribes, regions and nationalities will be expected to put on their native or national attire and come along with their indigenous food.
  • Food will be on display at 10:00a.m.  Therefore parents who may not have time early in the morning can bring their wards’ food by 10:00a.m.
  • Parents who want to observe and be part of this occasion are welcome.

CHANGE OF DATE

We have had to change the date for the General Stakeholders’ Conference to the 7th of December, 2013.  Under these circumstances, we trust parents will bear with us, take note and observe the date indicated.

VIRTUAL SCHOOL

Parents should kindly assist their wards upload the virtual school project from the school’s website: www.angelsschool.com during this break to enable them submit the assignments upon resumption of school.

SCHOOL FEES

We remind defaulting parents to make due their indebtedness by the resumption of school.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

We wish to inform parents that the extra-curricular (after school) programme has commenced.  Currently we offer lessons in Piano, Violin, Guitar, and Trumpet.  Interested parents can register their wards for any of these programmes.

A VISIT TO THE NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

An arrangement is underway to send the children in the after-school music programme to the National Symphony Orchestra in Accra on the 8th of November, 2013 to watch rehearsals and engage in related activities.  It is expected that this visit will give the children the general exposure and whip up the enthusiasm in them. Parents will be given the necessary details in due course.

PRE-SCHOOL “OPERATION READ”

The Pre-school will embark on a vigorous yet exciting Reading Programme that will involve parents and teachers when the school returns from the Mid-Term break.  This is intended to step up our Reading programme at the Pre-School. Very exciting activities are planned to make this programme beneficial to the children at the Pre-School.

BUS SERVICE

There is now a reliable and consistent bus/transport service for children who live in the environs, such as Community 25, Dawhenya, Devtraco and Michelle Camp.  Interested parents should contact Michelle on 0275234723 for further information.

NOTE
Please find attached details of our students' performance at the recent 2013 BECE as well as an accompanying list of senior high schools that have offered admissions to these students.
