School Building Project by Mr. Mike Ankama Kwakye (Business Director)

  1. The Board of Directors and Management of the school wish to assuage the fears of parents regarding the provisioning of space and other teaching & learning facilities for their wards to continue the Cambridge Programme at the Secondary level.
  2. The school is taking steps to construct a 21 classroom block on our 3 ½ acre plot at community 12. This block would also include 2 science laboratories, 1 main computer laboratories and an Art studio


  3. This project, when completed by August 2015, will house
    • The upper Primary i.e. G4 – G6
    • The Junior High School i.e. G7 – G9
    • The Secondary
  4. Funds for the project are readily available
  5. The grounds has already been prepared for work to begin
  6. The soil test has been carried out and reports, forwarded to the structural engineers (Messrs Akrievia Consult)
  7. Architectural Drawings for the project have been done by Sanqua Ventures and copies forwarded to the various government agencies for permits to be issued.
  8. At the moment, management is consulting a committee to oversee the work. This committee include parents and building experts
  9. Request for quotations have been sent to parents who deal in building materials for their participation

 Managing of project. Basically coordinating all the affairs within the team.

 Design and supervision of the structure

 Architectural design of building

4) Quantity surveyor

 Quantity and project cost calculation and evaluations

6) Mechanical and services engineer

 Plumbing, lift, firefighting layout design etc.

1st stage

 1st -2nd November

 Client review of final design.

 Architect dispatches drawings to consultants

2nd stage

 3rd -24th November

 Design and issue of preliminary structural engineering drawings

 Calculation and issue of preliminary costing of project

 Design and issue of preliminary electrical and services design for project

3rd stage

 From the 24th November- ongoing

 Application of permit starts

 Contractor mobilizes his resources and Construction work starts on site

(excavation for foundations, foundation walls, pouring of concrete etc)

 Design and issue of preliminary electrical and services design for project

4th stage

 24th November- 26th November

 Final client review and closeout of final design

5th stage

 From 26th November- ongoing

 Progressive issuing of final design and construction drawings by consultants

 Construction work starts with full speed
